    HOW TO: Curls in Seconds

    Tuesday 16 July, 2013

Had a crazy mane so you used JoBaz Everyday Straight?  But you would love a nice bouncy curl just some of the time?

When it comes to curling your hair with a straightener, we know just how hard it can be to get that perfect curl. So we created a fast and easy tutorial to achieve the perfect curl with your hair straightener within seconds.

Please keep in mind when you get started, it’s not going to look absolutely perfect on your first go, this takes practice. But we can assure you, you will be an expert in no time!

    Step 1:

For those who haven’t used JoBaz Everyday Straight we recommend applying a heat protecting or thermal iron spray or smooth styling product to your clean hair before you dry it as this will help you achieve a better ironed finished.

For those who have used JoBaz you already have an ironed finished which will really help perfect the look.

To begin section your hair from the underside into 4 parts (2 back and 2 front) using hair clips for easy styling and further sectioning.

    Step 2:

Starting at the nape pick up a small section of hair (about 1 to 2 cm square for a tighter curl or 2 to 4 cm square for a looser curl) and place the straightener close your scalp (careful not to burn yourself) and clamp the plates together as if you were going to straighten your hair.

    Step 3:

Pull the hair away from your scalp (rather than straight downwards) and as you start to pull, start to roll the straightener in a downward direction wrapping the hair section around it as you go.

    Step 4:

Keep gently rolling the straightener until you wrap all of your hair the whole way around the straighener. Once hair is all the way around the straightener, keep gently pulling/ sliding the straightener down the length of the hair

    Step 5:

Keep gliding the straightener down the length of the hair all the way to the end. When the last of the hair has been curled gently pick up the curl and position it to the side so you can proceed to other sections of your hair.

As the tips of the hair fall from the iron sit the curl neatly into place by taking the ends of the section you have just curled and turning then in the direction of the curl to reform it and allow it to set as it cools.

    Step 6:

If you are looking for loose curls, stretch the ringlet curl out. If you are after a tighter look hold the curl till it cools. Set the curls with a light spray of styling aid such as hair spray and then more on to the next section.

For those looking for a messy curl loosen the curls by separating with your fingers until your desired result is achieved.
